OUTDOOR EDUCATION 2010

YMCA Camp Pendalouan provided a wonderful setting for two days of outdoor education. Our fifth grade students interacted in challenge games, cross country skiing, broomball, orienteering, survival, candle making, hikes, Native American Life Fair, Gold Rush, and more.

The benefits of Outdoor Education on the lives of young people is well-documented. The results from these studies show an impact on four main areas--personal, interpersonal, academic, and environmental awareness. Some things just can't be learned in a traditional classroom.

Students were "geared up" to tackle the brisk January weather on Big Blue Lake. Fifteen adults joined them throughout the daytime activities and during the overnight camping experience in heated cabins at the 210-acre facility of Camp Pendalouan. Great staff...great parents...great students create unforgettable times.

Enjoy the video and a few of the photo highlights of our outdoor education.

Holiday Celebration

THE CHRISTMAS POTLUCK is a classic event at the Chittenden Home and this year was no exception. The food was glorious, the music was grand, and 26 students never looked so fine. Here are some photo highlights of the fun evening.
